From 2004 to 2013, Justice Brown was a member of the College of Legislation on the College of Alberta, variously as professor and affiliate dean. His predominant areas of apply have been industrial regulation, medical negligence, public authority legal responsibility, insurance coverage regulation and trusts and estates.
He was appointed to the Courtroom of Queen’s (on the time) Bench of Alberta on February 7, 2013, and to the Courtroom of Enchantment of Alberta on March 7, 2014. Justice Brown additionally served as a Choose of the Courtroom of Enchantment for the Northwest Territories and a Choose of the Courtroom of Enchantment of Nunavut.
